Dayton Flyers new coach Archie Miller

Well the Flyers have hired a new coach, after the timely departure of Brian Gregory.  I was hoping it would be Duke assistant Chris Collins, but I'm at least a little excited about the Archie hire.  If he is anything like his brother then the Flyers are in good hands.  Ultimately, time will tell if the Flyers are better off with Miller and here are some of the criteria on which myself and the other Flyer Faithful will be grading Miller.

1.  NCAA tournament appearances.  Let's be honest, if you don't go to the big dance it was a disappointing season.
2.  Beating Xavier.  For the love of God please let the Flyers snap the losing streak in Cincinnati, it's embarrassing.
3.  Recruiting and player development.  BG was great at recruiting, but players did not show much improvement under him.  It will be interesting to see what happens with Chris Wright in the NBA Draft.
4.  A-10 Conference play.  The Flyers need to be towards the top of the conference, and winning the A-10 Championship again would be great for the program.

Now matter how good of a coach Miller might be I expect a rough next couple of years for UD, it's going to take some rebuilding, but hopefully we are on the right track to making the above mentioned criteria take place on a regular basis in Dayton.  Go Flyers!
